J0E
So I'm driving on 280 North at about 2 a.m. this morning...perfect 62-degree weather with not a single car in sight up ahead. I'm just cruising at around 70 when I see a single headlight rapidly approaching behind me in the #I'm a follower-lane. I switch lanes shortly before dropping it into 3rd to prepare myself for any tomfoolery that could commence. As homeboy on his Gixxer is about to pass me, he slows down quite a bit and begins to check out my car. After pacing me for a good 10-seconds, I see he's not the type to initiate anything illegal, so I blip the throttle in gear a couple times just to let out a few barks. Right then, I see him tuck and I pin it. Immediately, he jumps out ahead a solid 3 bike-lengths. Now I'm playing catch-up after foolishly setting myself up for a loss starting from 70 MPH, which is too fast for 2nd, but doesn't quite put me in my powerband in 3rd. Oh well. Still in 3rd and by now picking up speed, he doesn't gain an inch, staying right where he was all the way to redline (~125 MPH). As I hit 4th, I start to reel him in...hard. By 140, his rear tire was even with my front-bumper, and by redline, I had him cleared. I still went on into 5th for good measure, but by around 175ish he let off...roughly a bike-length or so behind me. We coast back down to about 90ish and he signals to go again, but a few cars show up in a lane or two over up ahead so I back off. He exits with me to chat...stock '05 GSX-R1000. Me: '06 Z06 w/ Callaway intake, LG X5 cam, American Racing headers w/ no cats, Corsa exhaust, and a good tune...among other things. Then this morning, stopped at a light, a stock looking wingless silver SRT-4 pulls up next to me in my Volvo. White guy in his mid-20s...A-pillar gauges...nice rumble at idle. It turns green, but soon after I make the mistake of teasing him, I actually hear his car once it's moving. I punch it, but in the matter of seconds, he would walk me like I was still. I acknowledge the guy at the next light...claims to be running a 50-trim at PSI on pump gas putting down 375 to the wheels. I proceed to WOT again to hear him pass me, and it was a just a joke...I'd say 3 car-lengths from 25-50 MPH. It was a solid 115 MPH car. Who was I kidding? Über855R
Sounds like you were having some fun. Isn't it imbarassing getting beat by a rice rocket? Still those srt-4's can be very fast, and they are light as heck. Good stuff either way, and sometimes you just have to bow down and hope for a better outcome next time. Or hope to be in the corvette next time you see the srt-4.

I say the Z06 would take the I'm a follower liter to about 70-80 (from a launch) and after that, the bike would just fly past him. You seriously need like 800 hp to take a liter bike....its just no comparison...unless Joe has major headwork and a supercharged (which he neglected to tell us about) then I don't ever see him ever pulling on a liter bike...ever...this coming straight from a good buddy of mine who owned a GSXR1000 and two R6s. The R6 would probably be a very good race for his Z06....perhaps it was a GSXR650 since they both have similar fairings and similar colors.I know you think I'm some idiot n00b that doesn't know what i'm talking about and that you can get an easy pwn, but this is not the case. Even 600whp horsepower (unless its like 600whp in a <2000lb car) is going to take a bike. Its all power-to-weight....
Fishey
I am sorry but a C6 Z06 with those mods isn't keeping pace with a GSXR-1000 with a good rider. Also, a Bone stock C6 Z06 will walk a 50Trim SRT-4 unless its maxing out the turbo. Even then though the SRT-4 50trim will not walk away from a freaking stock mustang GT from 25-50mph let alone a C6 Z06. It will spin to about 120mph unless he is running non-dot drag slicks.Joe, you are the same guy that ran into the car behind you in your volvo right? Yea...... PullMyFinger
Above 100mph its less about power to weight and more about aerodynamics. As speeds increase, the bike loses efficiency and the car continues to gain. Well, maybe not all cars.
