Seamus
The right front shock blew on my 98 V-70R. All the suspension is stock and I plan on leaving the stock springs. I would be open to a small reduction in ride height? I have Nivomats on the rear and like the function. The question is????……….. What front shock can I use on the front that will balance with the rear and still give me good performance? I am leaning toward the Bilstein HDs, but am open to suggestions?? Anyone??? Greenchunks
I'd have to agree with Koni Yellows, the HD's are a fairly harsh ride, and they dont offer the Koni FSD's for AWD cars yet I believe. With the Koni yellows, you can adjust them to how soft or hard you may want them, so you could better match them with the Nivomats as well. prasamin
Seamus, you want Koni yellows...nothing but the best for your car.ride height won't change if you keep stock springs, but if you're looking for a bit better handling, with a minimal decrease in height, then Eibach springs are a good choice with the Konis
Seamus
Hey! Thanks all!I think I am going for the Konis. The adjustability is a good point, without the harshness of the HDs. I can even add a rear bar and give the front a click or two to compensate!!! OH! And did I mention I can get a KILLER DEAL!!!!! On the Konis???!!!!! ;)
Seamus
OK!! Job is done! I got the Konis for next to nothing and fit them today. I took the time to clean all the under coating off the stock spring, what a pain. The right side stock shock had vary little compression dampening and NO rebound at all. The left side worked but seamed a bit tired. I only drove the car around the block a few times and I have to say… I can tell they kick ass over the tore up junk that was under there. I have always thought the front end was too soft but did not want to sacrifice ride. I have them set mid rebound and I can tell the ride is still plush but firm. Thanks all for your input and steering me the right way….HAA !! see how I did that ??? steering me…. Oh forget it!….. <_<
