1996 850 N/a High Nox Did Not Pass Smog In Ca

I'm not a believer of snake oils or ACME products that advertise engine rebuild in a can.

My 96 850 is driven 5 minutes a day to test the ABS units, I did it for 2 yrs. and eventually had to have it smogged.

HC, CO, O2 and CO2 passed, failed NOx at 2,500 the tech did not pass the information to the state as gross polluter.

I figuered the carbon deposits had reduced the combustion chamber and increased the compression ratio to the point NOx was generated, or there were carbon deposits acting as a glow plug.

I ran two cans of seafoam (People who write the labels and warnings should know about men and mechanics behavior by now) 1/2 can is recommended, let it rest for 10 minutes and then did an Italian tuneup for about 5 minutes.

To boot I ran a can of water and another minute of Italian tuneup.

My Mini Cooper was parked 15 ft behind the 850 and it ended up looking like it just went thru fresh pavement sealer.

The next test the car passed with 117 PPM of NOx.

Amazing, the car runs better,........... my hair is not falling anymore, the grass is greener, my cat is no longer destroying my furniture and my teenagers are listening to me.

Next, I will try cleaning my Mini Cooper with a can of seafoam to get all the soot out.
