rodrigo
Decided to take the leap and darken up the front end. Big thanks to Jeremy for the help.Used VHT on the corners, a ZIG paint pen on the reflector bucket surround, cleaned the lenses with some polish, and viola!Still need to do some adjusting but for the most part I think it is the shade of darkness I am looking to keep...and yes the car needs to be washed, and the trim needs blackening. <_<
exexpat
You know I love ya, but you need to take your headlights apart again and do the ribbed sections of the reflector, trust me. and the divider piece between high and low beams. Anything that has ribs (not smooth chrome) is not a functional part of the reflector. The intent of these areas being ribbed is for anti-glare.Mo darka, mo betta
leurven
Rodrigo - I like. Very subtle. Nicely done man!

NGB
Sorry Rod, not feelin it.Maybe if you did the ribbed parts it would look better...but i don't really think the black goes with the white car.
rodrigo
thanks for the (few) comments.Jeremy...I was about to paint that ribbed portion as well, but I decided against it at the time of painting thinking that it could have been a step too far for a white car. On a black car, such as yours, it would (and does) look very fitting, but, for me at least, the white has be being more cautious. Given how easy it is to remove the glass off of our headlights, I can easily do the remaining ribbed portions, but after a few other things I am thinking of trying.Sorry Rod, not feelin it.Maybe if you did the ribbed parts it would look better...but i don't really think the black goes with the white car.no worries man...we all have different tastes, and I can see your point as well.:)
Oreo931
I think it looks great, but it would look nicer darker :)
dmelviØØ7
Hey looks good, I like. Has anyone ever painted an XC bumper? All white could look sweet. Then match the rest of your trim. Trading white paint ideas is fun!!
Spoony
Painting it white would look hot!The fog light on the left side of the screen looks darker, I think
NGB
Ya know...maybe it was just an image shock kinda thing. As i look at the pics again, they're starting to grow on me.Take a couple shots of the whole car, with it in focus. I think it might be just subtle enough, but still have that mystique associated with black.
exexpat
the white has be being more cautious.I understand. The XC ubmper permits more black, but on a standard V70 or R, I agree with your assessment.

rodrigo
I came out this morning and looked at them in the sun...its actually very subtle to the point where I'm not sure anyone 'normal' would notice a difference, but they do look different. still....there is more to come.
fastboy
do what Jeremy says... and then come up here and do my headlights as I am far tro lazy and busy at teh same time. I really like how they look on the XC Rod.
