ThaBigO
I had my weitecs put on like a couple of weeks ago. Everything seemed fine and the handling improved Dramstically along with my ipd Anti sway bars. Ive had my car on jacks for like the past week working on the Brakes, Calipers, and wheel hub. I finally finshed up everything yesturday. I was drving my car today and noticed how bumpy the rear end of the car was (it was bumpy before but seems like it got worse). It feels like im on a boat or something. I just got home now and i was sitting down on the wagon bed and moving the rear end up and down and it seems horrible, not stiff at all. Do you guys think this is a result to bad shocks or springs?? Im pretty sure the shocks are bad or something. Also i got the weitec wagon Springs for my car since its a wagon and it suppose to give that low profile look which looks nice but could it also be the springs that are bad and perhaps the Sedan rear springs will be more suitable??Someone please help me out with this.... I hope i wont need to exchange the rear shocks or something. Thanks,Orlando

ThaBigO
Hmm i had a feeling that was the case when i first got them..... So the shocks are the ones that are suppose to Absorb all the Impact from the Bumps and all. And should be Stiffer correct. Because these dont feel stiff at all. maiku
they're the cylindrical metal things that compress when you push downsprings help push the car back up
erikv11
I'm sure there are hundreds of pages devoted to this but I'll try for a short take:springs are about:1) how high the car rides and 2) how much the rear (or front) is allowed to move up and down. springs determine the range (how far up and down) your car can travel through.shocks are about how easy (or difficult) it is for the car to travel through that range. stiffer shocks = more difficult to travel up and down = less body movement but more jarring.softer shocks = easier to move up and down = more body movement and smoother ride but poorer handling. FixerUpper
Are the springs seated incorrectly?
ThaBigO
yea i installed the rear springs and shocks myself. Followed the haynes Manual for the instructions, pretty easy job to do. And them seem to be fitted fine. How can i be sure?? It seems very easy to move that rear up and down. My front end however is perfect. Kinda hard to move up and down and when i release it there isnt a lot of bounce back, unlike the rear. Thanks,Orlando
troyhyde
Stiff springs + soft shocks = winning combo.Stiff springs + stiff shocks = losing combo.I am talking about everyday driving on bad streets. What shocks do you have?
