Über855R
What do you guys have your spark plugs gapped at? What is the difference in performance/temp/timing with having a larger versus smaller gap? I would like to get some educated opinions if thats possible. prasamin
gap down for better spark...not too far or you'll get blowout and other stupid issues.i've got my Champion RC7YC plugs down to .023....running 18psi no problems.
TorqueSteer
Theoretically to create the most power, you want to gap as large as possible before you experience any problems, such as blowout and misfiring. However, on these cars ive found a .025 or even .023 gap to work great for higher boost, right now on 21lbs of boost im running .025 gap, on my 75 shot of nitrous and 16 pounds i ran a .23 gap with the plugs that Prasamin mentioned, and even on boost it worked great. turbor850
Ben is right, for most power you want to gap the plugs higher before getting spark blowout. With an upgraded ignition (coil, MSD 6A) you can run a tad bigger gap.25/.26 is what i go for, every so often when i check I get 1 or 2 at .27 or .29 and still experience no blowoutoh and at 22 psi/24psi/26psi :P
Gioseppe
bosch fr7dc's at .025, msd6a, bosch wires, stock coil. 17 psi no blowout with spikes of 18-19.

What does it feel like or sound like? Would you experience it in the higher RPM range or lower range? How do you know if your gap is too big or just right? How do you know if your gap is too big or just right? It is basically when the car hickups just a little under load, it's the car misfiring (not burning all of the gas in the combustion chamber?)... gdizzle
OEM, 0.025 16lbs no minor missfires still, but pretty sure it's not plug related.
