bogelo
Im trying to change my compressor on my 95 850 turbo and need to take out receiver/dryer. The dryer needs a special tool 5472, look at the picture. Here is what I get from my manual:Disconnect snap-on connections (N8 in the picture):Disconnect snap-on connections from receiver/dryer. Use snap-on remover tool 5472. Remove right-hand headlamp cover. Remove screw from receiver/dryer bracket.Any1 knows where I can get this or is there alternate way? and I don't know what the tool looks like. TIA. Bay13
In your pic the thing labeled 5/8 is the tool, it goes around the pipe then you push it in and it will spread a spring in there so you can pull the accumulator out of the pipe. I don't use that kind of tool, I have a set of white plastic ones.
bogelo
Do you have the real-life picture so I can try to find it? The one in the picture is not very clear. Is it available in harbor-freight or tool shop?TIA

DashingDaryl
You can get a generic version at Auto Zone. It is a a/c tool common to most any brand of vehicle. You can get them in a set for maybe $10.I met a guy who made one out of a 2 liter bottle, but he's the MacGyver type..

Guest Guest
Just be darn sure the garter spring is fully connected. You should see the spring over the flare when connected, use mirror if necessary. It sucks when one blows off halfway through the recharge. BTDT!
