turn7
2000 S70 2.4 Non-TurboI have been experiencing a sporadic missfire/stumble at idle and at lower rpm's as the car begins to take off from a stop. This has been an ongoing thing for the last few months and for most of the time using super unleaded fuel resolved (masked) the issue. However, it never threw a code to know which cylinder this mis was happening on until just this past week. I have code P301 which I was told was a misfire on cylinder 1. I want to move the coil from that cylinder to another cylinder to see if the misfire follows the coil or stays on cylinder 1. Which cylinder is 1? I assume it is the cylinder closest to the timing belt but, want to ensure it isn't the one closest to the transaxle. Thanks for any help.

You probably have a weak coil pack or crappy plugs ;)
Seamus
The coils often fail but I have seen plug problems with cars that are driven hard. Often times the coils flat die, and the plugs will randomly misfire...
