Über855R Posted October 9, 2006 Report Share Posted October 9, 2006 On the way home from Tahoe meet I see some guys driving a WRX coming up on me pretty quick. They have some shoe polish writing like they just came from the track in the windows. My car was loaded with me two friends bags from the weekend a Wheelchair and all my usual subs and such. His car was stock looking with four people in the car all young guys. We see eachother and start to pick up the general pace of driving. I revved on him a little and let him know I am down to go. After a little cat and mouse we get an open stretch and pull next to eachother. I honk just to say hi and realize that he thinks I am starting a race, so we both go. He jumped on me a little until I realized he was going for it. I mash the gas and pulled about 1 car length on him by about 100. We play around through traffic for a while until we get another opening. This time I tell him to start it. He honks and we go. This time was a little closer and we are about neck and neck till 80 or so, after that I pulled about a half a car lenght on him before slowing down at about 105 or so. Oh well it was fun and I was suprised to be able to hang with an STi, much less pull on him. My car felt so slow with all that extra weight, I want to try again with an empty trunk and an open road. Anybody have an STi? Now when I was messing around with doug on the way back from tahoe, he definitaly pulled on me. But that car is so fast I don't feel bad at all. We had an exciting little drive down the mountain from the VCOA meet. It cost me a headlight eyebrow but it was fun. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Of course you can make a good deal more power on the stock turbo with a reflash and exhaust as seen here:With his mods he could probably pull a good amount on a stock STi (on the highway).
