matt b
What is the screw close to the BB? Looks low to the the front der mount It's the chain guard. CR1 and other Scott frames have a small plastic ring that clamps around the tube but higher end frames have it integrated into the CF. It can be backed out using the screw and prevents the chain from falling behind the small chain ring. Nice way to avoid chewing up a frame. flyfishing3
I've brought it up before, but we should do a Carlisle ride Bunch of us get there somewhat early fri and do a longish ride. It's fairly flat and lots of back roads Travis, Neubar, Matt, greg, Tyler, me, couple TB guys ride. Could be fun

matt b
I'd be down for it. At some point I'll make it back up there.
Black Betty
I'd have to buy a road bike, but possibly. Nothing like the old man crew whopping up on my 20'something ass. Schaffer is great! lots of trails loops, you can hit them one way for easy rides, the other for harder rides. And then link a couple of loops together and you are there all day. Lots of different challenges too. Not a lot of hikers there either, mostly bikers, some horses, again that was a while ago... Have you tried Gambril? It had a lot of down hill runs. I hiked it once and it seemed like lot of guys were loading up bikes in a pickup at the bottom and driving them to the top. The trails I hiked were unrideable up the mountain (hills?) I think I tried Gambrill once. (I get that and the Frederick watershed confused) either way what I road was really rocky and technical. Far above my expertise. I didn't mind Seneca for those same reasons, it was a nice comfortable ride. I plan to make it down to Schaeffer, but I don't know if it'll be this year or next. I've heard nothing but good things about it
BurgerBob
I've brought it up before, but we should do a Carlisle ride Bunch of us get there somewhat early fri and do a longish ride. flyfishing3
i got tired of hauling my good bike around when i travel, if something happened to it, i would cry. decided to build up my FELT frame for work travel. i wanted campy record gruppo, but all my rear wheels are sram/shim and i don't feel like buying new cog thingy and cassette's. i have a bunch now lol next i thought SRAM was the direction since my other bikes are all SRAM, but i couldn't find a triple front in force or RED, at least in a road set up i wanted. so SHIM was pretty much it. scored a good deal IMO on a 2013 ULTEGRA gruppo. this will give me something to work on during cold snowy days. flyfishing3
Keep it up man I started riding after I destroyed my achillies. I really enjoy riding now and start jonezing if I don't ride often
iPd Cameron
Baby steps, I did 4miles the other day... Keep it up man Yup, keep riding! It'll come quick if you keep it up -- ride often, and it gets easier and more enjoyable every time. I took a long break from riding during/after college and didn't pick it back up again regularly until about 5 years ago. At first, the 5 mile rides were enough to wear out my legs. Within even just a couple weeks that wasn't so, and soon enough 20 mile rides were the norm.
flyfishing3
don't let weather be an excuse either. i did 30miles this am, and when i left, there was frost on the ground. i do not ride in rain and snow though, so i guess i'm a fair weather rider lol. Fudge_Brownie
Do you guys get almost painful breathing when it's really cold out? Whenever it gets below maybe 45F and I'm breathing heavily, it burns my throat and my lungs. Feels kind of like windburn.
Timbo Slice
I get that feeling when I haven't done excessive cardio for a while and jump back into it heavily. It's a combination of not being in optimal shape and the temperature. Even if I'm in great cardio shape I still get it once in a while when the temp drops. When I was running XC in high school and the temp dropped one week, I slowed down quite considerably because of this.
Mesoam
I've known people who have the lung burning in cold weather they typically wear a balaclava or something like that
