matt b
holy shit roads were like grease today, lots of pucker moments, could hardly grab any brake without locking up rear....and front Hahahahaha! Yesterday was the same way here, things got a little tricky at times. Still got 4 hours on the bike yesterday, couldn't be happier with it. Mesoam
i wanted to get in a couple hours but had to call it quits an hour in, i wasn't about to risk a crash, i would have been better off with my around town bike
BurgerBob
Guys - any of you struggle with hot feet? I'm riding a $100 pair of Specialized (the company's cheapest road shoe), and my feet are killing me on longer rides. I had to stop several times on yesterday's 45-mile ride. I'm going to try keeping the lower straps much looser on my next ride and see what that does, but I'm thinking it might be time for an upgrade. The insoles in these are a joke, so maybe I can snag something nicer on black Friday.
NEU
I aways wear wool socks, even now I'm wearing them. Wool breaths better then cotton and wicks moisture away from you skin. Also great for riding in the rain and water. Nothing I hated more then wet feet. I have a drawer full of thin Surly wool socks that I wear in the Summer.
Mesoam
never had hot feet problem, hows the ventilation on the shoes? typically the cheap crap doesn't do so well on that end
BurgerBob
I'm not literally fighting feet that are hot. I'm dealing with "hot foot," a sensation brought on by nerves getting pinched.

The insoles in these are a joke, so maybe I can snag something nicer on black Friday. I had issues with my Specialized shoes a couple years ago and ended up selling them for a song and switching. Their inserts are decent and help to some extent but you should not be getting hot spots unless your foot is not sitting properly in the shoe. Mesoam
I used to ride specialized shoes back in the day, they were the only ones i've ever had problems with (not necessarily with fit but more so breaking). I switched to Sidi's and they were the best cycling shoes I ever owned. Now using Pearls, they are ok, definitely going back to Sidi's
matt b
Yeah, I love my Sidis. 4 hours in them Saturday: never any issue that day or the next. My Mavics had gotten to be so soft, I'd have numb feet an hour into a ride and my feet would be sore the next day.
flyfishing3
Unless your looking to drop the bomb, I was super happy with my Louis garneau carbons Good feel, stiff bottoms, better venting then my sidi's and way cheaper If you want to drop the big one, sidi's What size?
