Duct tape and cable ties, so simple and basic and yet I never thought of them.

Will change rad top hose and replace all hose clips, get a new expansion cap and use the old one as spare.

May as well change thermostat as the one I have is three years old - I took it out of a previous car to save money, sad or what??

ps Girlfriend sounds like fun especially those eurochicks, but Mrs Matt might not approve.

I agree with the thermostat and if it never been replaced, change the ECT while you're at it.
