grocerygetter
Got a question, my little sister blew up my dads 95 Turbo, let it overheat until it stopped working. Right now its sitting at my parents house and I am going to rebuild it but not any time soon. The question is can the turbo from the 95 be put in the 97? I know they are the same but I am not sure about the flanges to the exhaust. My 97 has been beat like no other and my mom and sister drove the 95 very little in its life, it barely has 100K on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

CAKES855
the 95 will have a conical outlet and the 97 will have a straight flange

grocerygetter
Thanks so should I swap the turbos and the downpipes?
Chopper
You could, except the 95 downpipe dosn't have a bung/hole for the SAS valve (to the air pump). You will get a CEL if this is disconnected. If you don't care, NP. Otherwise I think it's a direct swap. You'll need to use new lock nuts for te turbo->Downpipe and turbo->exhaust manifold. These are like $7 each. You'll need 7 total... (and 6 new copper washers for the oil/coolant lines, and probably some vacuum line)
