Phil94850
when i first got my car i did the wastegate adj. because it was boosting so low... well.. since then i put on a MBC ( which helped ) and installed an aftermarket boost gauge. At present the car is boosting about 10 or 12 psi mostly on the 10 side which is basically stock. Today.. i went in and tightened up my wastegate some more trying to increase press and it really didnt make much difference. Ive turned the wastegate arm in about 6 turns total. My understanding is .. you shorten the rod to increase press correct ? I truly think my problem is the cheapy MBC i got off ebay. the guy sent me another one and when you turn the knob so far it gets tight and then starts to get loose feeling and at that point my boost press. starts to drop.Ive checked for boost leaks, vac. leaks, e.t.c. nothing found. Car has new timing belt and complete tune-up and runs great. what do u guys think ????
PharmD
Crappy MBC...get yourself a good one, then take a whack at adjusting that stuff. I never like to start with bad equipment, cause you'll always come up with bad results. Just my experience...Stephen

S40_Flyer
I had a TurboXS MBC and never had any problems. Sure it cost more, but I didn't go thru 2-3 MBC's like my friends.
Chopper
The car will basically "learn" the wastegate adjustment after a while and change the parameters. I bet if you reset the ECU (pull the fuse or disconnect the battery for 20 mins), it'll go strong again for a while and then do this again.
