TDVT
Hi, first post here, seems like a lot of knowledgable folks and I appreciate any insights. We have an '00 XC which seems to have a light show happening regularly with the dash lights. Check engine & ETS are the most common, but we get the TRAC/ABS lights occasionally as well. Often simply switching off the ignition will re-set something & make them go off, other times that doesn't work, but eventually they all go out. The car has had it's ETS software upgrade and of course when it goes to the dealer there are never any lights on & they say it's fine. From what I've read here, it sounds like our ABS controller is going, especially when I read about it affecting cruise, which won't switch in lately (but sometimes does). I have bookmarked Victor's webpage for an ABS rebuild. Sound like the problem? Also, can the faulty controller also affect the efficiency of the car's braking? We didn't really notice the brakes not working as well as they used to, but I bought a '98 V70 a few weeks ago and the new car really STOPS! The '00 had new rotors & pads in the spring so it should be working properly. Thanks for the help, TD
