Test Pipe?

I want to take the cat out of my S60. What to do with the O2 sensors and the check engine light? I remember I've seen someones signature says "no cat", so there must be some way to go around it.

help me out.

Why dont you want a cat? Get a proper high-flowing one and it doesn't make much of a difference, and you don't have to deal with those blasted sensors- and it's better for the environment!! :lol:

ya, there's ways around it, like having the rear 02 sensor programmed out on the ECU..

but just like was mentioned above, adding a 3" straight through "race cat" would also work, pass emissions, and inspections (if your state has it) and work with your OEM 02 sensors.

because I want the flame come out of the pipe, and the more important reason, all the downpipes like IPD and EST selling are like 1000 dollar. I really dont want to spend that much on a piece of steel pipe.

k, i run 20 psi, and have a 3" DP, no cat, and my car doens't ignite on a backfire.

a test pipe and a 3" DP aren't the same thing...

Flame....hmm..I'd say your best bet is 3" down pipe, no cat or muffler, and side exit. It's really not worth it....and you can get a custom downpipe made for quite a bit less than a grand. You're a sucker if you buy one of those....

Like all the others said, just run a high flow, all the straight pipe is gonna do is, well nothing really. Your computer just gonna throw a code, and your car wont run right. O2 sensors are there for a reason, so keep umm. Plus the cat helps keep some backpressure if you run larger then stock exhaust. Im not trying to be a now-it-all or anything, this is just to my knowledge...im also new to this board by the way

it was my understanding that the rear O2 sensor was only there for emissions... so just take the O2 sensor out an place it somewhere else in the open air. Your car will just think it has an aweosme CAT.

back pressure is bad. the goal is to reduce pressure drops.
