Guest Burke
I am chasing this same problem on my 1997 NA 850 wagon. The dealer said it was the evaporative valve (which they replaced) but I am still getting the same code, and I havn't had time to take it back to the dealer yet. Someone told me that there is a smoke test that the dealer can do to find the leak, but I don't know whether they actually did that on my car or not (I did not know about the smoke test until after I took it to them). Also there is a vacuum elbow underneath the power steering pump that can leak; I haven't tried to find that one yet.Good luck and let us know if you find the problem. Modus
It's funny to say at least, I just don't know where else to look. Generic OBDII reads PO442 which states "small emmissions leak detected"And the Volvo DTC reads EFI-612 which is "Fuel tank system, small Leak" signal Lowany one else know? My car has a slight odor there but I have no codes. Some people have gotten leaks out of hoses in that area.
Guest burke
There is a thread over on swedespeed that I started some time ago that has a few more clues:http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=59895But I still haven't solved my problem. I can turn off the code, but then in a few weeks it comes back.
