Thinking Of Getting The Qbm Strut Bar Conversion Kit

Would like to know your opinions on the Strut bar conversion from Quick Brick Motorsports. Who has put it on their P2 car? How is it? Did it really make a difference? etc. If positive reports, I'll probably get this.

A ton of people have it over on SS. 98% love it and have zero issues whatsoever. 2% mentioned a very slight exhaust resonanace around 3krpm that only lasts for a few rpms. However, most of those had upgraded DPs and exhausts and most issues turned out to be loose exhaust shields that were just made apparent by the installation of the QBM mounts. Then there are a small handful of people that have the Evolve black (hardest) poly torque bushing and have noted a slight increase in NVH - the rest notice no difference in vibration at all including those with the IPD poly, Evolve yellow poly, and Powerflex poly mounts. Those with the black Evolve agree however that the performance gains far outweigh the vibration because it's so minor and is only at idle not while driving. I have the IPD blue bushing on my car and have abolsutely no vibration difference at all.

Here are some threads about it. Skywriter on which is also on VS was one of the the first people to have one. He has posted on this site as well as SS about his impressions.

Thanks Slater! Didn't think the inventor of this kit would be the one to answer me first.

I'll look at those links you provided. If I order tonight will I get them before we make the trip out of town for Thanksgiving? It's a mountainous trip so I figure it would be a good time to go ahead and get them if they'll get here in time for me to put them in before we take off.

Update: I read the thread and decided to order. I just sent you an email with my information. Thanks for providing quality products for our cars!

I sent you payment details. Once we receive payment I can get it into the mail as soon as tonight. Since you are in TN you would receive it Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Sound good?

As one of the purchasers of the QBM strut kit, I can say I am in the majority, no vibration problems, and a small, but noticeable difference in handling. Just seems a bit tighter, and faster turnin. You won't be sorry, unless you have the Evlove black upper engine mount, and then only for the slight vibration difference.

my friend has one in his R, the car feels a bit stiffer, but combined with the poly bushings, it gets rid of that "rocking back" sensation that the P2's seem to suffer from when you put them in park. I like it so much that I'm making my folks get the QBM kit for our v70's the next time they need engine bushings...

Update:

The conversion kit got here yesterday and I put it in this morning. Great instructions come with it and it was an easy 10 minute job. The feel on the steering is much tighter...drove it on the hill to our house that has several curves. A great modification for cheap $$...a very special thanks to Slater!

I do notice the slight vibration in my foot (foot only...not steering wheel) at about 3K rpm's but it's gone quickly. I do have the new and improved OEM upper engine torque mount bushing intsalled.

Btw, the old bushings in the torque bar mount (the ones replaced by Slater's solid mounts) were burnt looking and appeared to have deteriorated some, even at 48K miles on the car. I suppose that eventually these would wear out anyway and render the upper torque engine mount useless, even if it were in good shape.
