Gauge Pod

There are airbags behind your a-pillars. Xenophobic, on Swedespeed, says that pods molded into the a-pillar won't effect the airbag. He has it done on his car but personally, if I get into an accident, the last thing I would like is to eat a bunch of gauges

no shit, i'd rather not have my teeth knocked out by my wideband gauge.

the position of airbag on the a-pillar, and correct attachment method is not going to push the pods into your face, they deploy to the sides then out through a seem. the direction the piller would go would be down toward the bottom of the window shield. i took my a-pillar off 6 months ago to route some wiring. they suck to put back on. in the mean time i look at it all the time. quite a bit of it deploys from the roof as well. if anyone has any paranoia about making one just have you customer sign a disclaimer/release form. it's not like all the modifications are making your car safer anyway, sheesh. to read the (street) race forum, even a air filter makes people do stupid and dangerous stuff.

Honestly, a signed piece of paper will mean nothing with lawyers. If by chance you have plastic in your face or glass that is somehow related to the gauge. And to say that the gauge will not hurt you in an accident .... kinda depends on the accident.

I get a lot of requests for moulding pods on pillars for S60's, 40's and a few 80's, but the liability scares...even if its not the fault of the driver of th car that has a moulded pod by me. Its a conscience thing too...

When did they start A-pillar bags in the C70s?

dont think they do...I have to 'make' them fit for C70's...still perfecting that :)
