Fisher
Hello all, I've got 18.5k miles on my S60 2.5T and when I checked by coolant recently I noticed what at first appeared to be dry spots on the side of the coolant reservoir. I took a screwdriver and scraped it along the side and this white stuff came off and fell to the bottom of the reservoir. I haven't taken the reservoir out to clean it because I don't have any extra coolant yet. Anybody know what this stuff is? Coolant is rather dark and dirty looking too. This stuff is supposed to be fill for life?

Best is to use distilled or purified mixed 50/50 with AF. If the coolant is dirty, why not flush and fill, anyway, just to play it safe?

GM made that 100,000 mile claim a few years ago then reverted to half that number
