Phil94850 Posted November 7, 2006 Report Share Posted November 7, 2006 i wanted to get your guys opinion.. i noticed the speaker on my drivers side rear is history and i wanna replace it but i noticed its an 8ohm speaker where most aftermarkets are 4ohms. what size is the speaker and what brand can i use thats 8 ohms or what do u guys suggest doing ? thanks .. If you don't think this sounds good, remove all the speakers from the rear and you can use a nicer 4 ohm set. Or, spend the money on an aftermarket set for the front instead, as that will make more of a difference. Either leave the rears completely empty or go with just the deck speaks. Of course, there's several other configurations you could do, but that's just some basic ideas for you. You might also just source another set of rears if you don't want to get too involved in anything aftermarket. I've sold a set a rears for $20 shipped and I've seen other people selling them for about the same money. They should be relatively easy to find, if that's the route you wanted to take. The rear is basically it's own size. A 6.5 will be a touch too big and a 5.25 will be a bit too small. However, either will work with minor adjusting. In the absolute worst case you're looking at just cutting a baffle to mount over the square space that the grille covers.Also, your sig picture is too large. Crop it, resize it, or do whatever you need to do, but that's just a little bit too big as it is now. No worries, though. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

No worries, though.Not just that, but the cover on the front of your car, uugh...Don't waste your money on stock 850 speakers, unless the thought of anything even remotely custom scares the crap out of you, and you need the rear doors. You can get much better drivers online (*cough* ebay) in the same (or close) price range... The stock speakers break easy, sound like crap, and just generally suck.The stock 850 decks don't like it when they see anything less than 4 ohms, which means you either have to remove a set of speakers (door or rear deck) or stick with 8 ohms. The rear deck speakers will give you more midbass, so many people using stock locations just remove the rear door ones. Or, you could upgrade your HU. Anything based on stock HU, Stock locations, No Amp, and no sub will always be just :-/. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
