DanO
I have a V50 I'm getting 26.5 - 27.5 , that with Tires Pumped Up, - 6speed & Mid Grade Fuel.I have found that a low tire or Head Wind can cut it down 2 Mpg , that seems a lot for a Volvo that is Suppose to be More Areo to slice thur the Wind.It has the Latest Dual Cam Over Head VVT , not just Intake side and More Compression, then Say V40 a 6 Speed instead of the 5 Speed Automatic , But It get Less !Much More Adavnced ECU and an Engine with Specific LOw Friction Internals !V40 Got 28-31 Mpg with out even trying and going 75 Mph with Some City in there also.V50 I have to Try and get the Numbers I mentioned for this Auto , so a Little Drag or Wind and Numbers take a Dive.Drive it Harder and Rev. Motor between Gears to 3600rpm , as in No Short Shifting and gets 26 Mpg.Automatic 5 speed V50 get's 28Mpg , I Test Drove Both and Tested , Dealer is way Cool , but that 6 speed from the R V70 is Great.Should be able to get 60 Mph 6.5 sec. when Broken In , will be putting a K&N in First Thing !Will do 144 Mph. with just a K&N ! T5Chris
Say what? I'm just going to go by what the topic is and post my mpg. On my s60 T5 2.3L I get about 19.5 to the gallon. On high way I get about 25 to the gallon. My average MPG is 21.8. This is with stop and go driving, controlling the speed of my car to minimize braking, and also I don't accelerate very hard from 0-60. Hypothetically, if I were going 65-70mpg with 91 octane and no stop and go, I could probably get around 31-32 mpg. This is with ECU upgrade of course. WhiteT5
Remember, the V50 has one more cylinder than the V40 also .
