Current Rust Proofing - It Pisses Me Off !

Found NO RustProofig , as In There Was Both Before , Nott Now Just Lines !

All pre-Ford Volvos built since the 240 have come with plastic fender liners in the front, not sure about the rears. My 00 V70 has partial rear liners. Don't have a clue about the post-Ford ones.

The plastic liners do a pretty good job of keeping the water and road salt away from the metal, that's what they are there for.

I'd love to see pictures of what you found when you removed the liners on your V50.

Poly Epoxy , is Better Then Tar , The Waxy Oil that Drys is very Good , have to get from a Body Shop .

The Additional Protection of RustProofing behind the Lines , Is Gone , so Buyers Beware !

Lines and Sand , Road Rocks in NY = Heavy Sand Paper - upon any movement !

So , I'm Proofing My Rig , Plus Sound Deadning !

In the Name of Green , Please Screw Me Hard , That's what all You are Saying , If You don't Let them know

what is the Correct and Simply , They had It Correct , so Why did they Change ?

Lets Be Green , BS - If that was the Case , Then By all Means Completly Gravelize , My Car in a Dip Bath ( Entirely ) !

I won't have to by One for 18 Yrs. , Maybe just Drop a New Motor in It ! , That's Far Cheaper then $ 36,000 -$ 44,000 !

how does your dry cleaner get the tar out, mine can't get it right :lol::lol:

Oh. Yeah and When the Wholes Come thur in 8-10 rs. instead of 16-18 yrs. You will be Spening $ 4000.00 to get it painted

repaired etc. It will Be Comsmetic alright !

Waxing Your Auto according to Volvo Is Yearly Maintenance .

Okay.. too much color i think i am going to pass out from all the different colors. And i think he is ranting about something that is just dumb. For real and i dont think this is a cosmetic topic, more of a maintenance issue.

The Volvo Statment is from Volvo , an I got it Currently and it was not altered at all , They have altered the Ending whee they have added Wheel Well Liners , Of Course I should Just go to Europe , the next Time I Buy one and Fully Inspect

the Building Of My Car , If You Look Even Closer , You won't Find any Hand Welding , My V40 the Doors were all Hand Welded , which can be a Bad or a Good thing depending on the Welder !

I guess most of You have built Custom Bikes , If not then get Your Eye Fine Tuned ( a General statement about Build Quality )

Didn't they also come fitted with driver and passenger side houkas back then?

Jesus Christ dude. Whew, take a deep breath and drink a beer.

Remeber the rubber rust-proofing that used to be on the 240's, SAAB 900's? They did great protecting against the salt, etc until the rubber started to disintigrate and crack. Water would seep into these hairline cracks and trap moisture and contaminents under the coating. This accelerated the corrosion, hence why you'll find SAAB and old Volvo's that look great underneth until you poke around with a screwdriver. Don't worry, Volvo spends a millions a year on engineers who have far more qualification than most of us here.
