TorqueSteer
I just got my hands on a Hahn Racecraft Td05 super 16g turbo, was wondering if anyone on this site with any hahn turbo installed on their car (i know there is at least two) can answer a few questions about the install. Ill break my questions up into parts.Compressor inlet - im guessing its basically the same as our stock turbos correct?Compressor outlet - It seems that its the same or very close to stock, no big fitment deal here.Exhaust inlet - I can either machine off the lip from the stock manifold or buy the ATP turbo adapter, but Im not sure how much clearance that will give me as the compressor and exhaust sides are larger than the stock td04's.Exhaust outlet - I was planning on buying a DSM 02 housing and bolting it up to the turbo, then having a custom 2.5 or 3" downpipe (its basically just one more bend since the first is taken care of by the 02 housing)Oil inlet line - Will the stock one bolt up or do I need to go braided from the block?Oil return line - Will the stock one fit or need modificationCoolant feed and return - no clue on the fitment of these, im wondering if its the same location as the stock location, and if not, what can I do to make it work.I think I covered everything fitment wise, any advice or info about this install would be greatyl appreciated! I tried searching for the post of the member who installed this exact turbo on their 850 but I came up with nothing.

Che'_Moderator
Oil return line will fit without modification?I meant yes is needs changed. Some people claim it does not but.... hell if I know how they used the stock one. Lines are easy as hell to fab. Dont let it scare you. We're talking pretty low pressures. Marzocchi
Hi,We are in the same boat my friend! My car will be stored this week-end and I am looking to swap for a EVO 3 16G.For now, informations I have gathered about it are:T3 to TD05 exhaust manifold adapter: http://www.kineticmotorsport.com/products/...ate-413-22.htmlThey also carry injectors for cheaper than people are selling them in the For Sale section. Also misc flanges for compressor outlet.About the DSM o2 housing, I think that the dsm manifold to turbine is 90° with our manifold so the o2 housing will put the downpipe flange toward the firewall, I am not 100% sure about this but on the pictures I've seen, the dsm manifold is pointing at the bottom.About the oil and water pipes, someone said the banjo bolts are larger. Banjo bolts can be found in any size and braided hoses is cheap. Either you bring your hoses to a truck repair shop and ask them to crush or weld a larger banjo at the end or buy some braided hoses and banjo fittings and you custom make your own hoses. I did that on my motorcycle brakes and it was 50% cheaper than buying them. You can also choose any finish on them for show! Anodized aluminium or polished SS or the cheapest was zinc plated steel. www.anplumbing.comOil return pipe, I don't know. For the compressor outlet, it may be required to use a J pipe or maybe reclock the turbo because it doesn't seem to be inline with the intercooler pipe.If you find new information about this, let us know.Pierre

TorqueSteer
I did as well, I chose the Hahn 16g because it has a T3 flange instead of the mitsubishi flange. I think at 1/2 inch thick though, there may be clearance problems.Gosh darnit i searched high and low some months ago for an adapter, including on that site. But i have a T3/T4 now. Bummer. The rest can all be fabricated with relative ease.
JCviggen
I never liked the downpipe connection much, i think that was the biggest factor I didnt go that way. The lines cant be too difficult.

550
Im getting one... if that helps... they flow 575cfm from what i was todl by their reps. Also I thought they were 3 bolt flange for the DP.I also think td05 is the wheel designation.

TorqueSteer
Thank You man! IM not sure if the exhaust is a divorced housing or not, I havent seen pics of the exhaust side lol, if it is divorced, then I will have to use the 02 housing, but if its not, is the outlet matched to our conical outlet or straight outlet?TO lengthen the oil return, did you just cut the pipe and clamp down a high temp silicon tube, or did you add a metal pipe and use 2 silicone pieces as connectors? And one more question, is it true that you can run a water cooled turbo without any coolant going to it? Just so I can split up the work into two days, install the turbo one day, then the next, install the water lines, or does a water cooled turbo need coolant flowing through it at all times?okaycompressor inlet and outlet both fit stock partsmachine the lip off the manifoldthe 3 bolt downpipe was used in my 20G from my older 15G BSR downpipe just cut and welded (i sent you pics)the oil feed and return both fit with stock volvo parts - just have to lengthen the oil returnthe water feed and return are from TD05 older volvos
550
I wouldnt think you can run it with out the coolant. I mean... it gets hot all on it's own just at idle. And the hahn turbo is pretty big. :-/
turbor850
Brad at Hahn said you don't have to run coolant lines if you don't want to.
