BtownVolvo
You have to reset the service light. It is based on mileage and isn't like a DTC. It can't sense that the oil change has been made I believe to reset it, you must:turn the car off and then push and hold the tripometer reset buttonturn the car to ON and continue to hold it until you hear 2 dings (or 10-15 seconds i think)If that doesn't do it, then just disconnect the battery overnight or something lolEDIT: from VADISResetting Service reminder indicator (SRI)Resetting Service reminder indicator (SRI)To reset the service reminder indicator (SRI) carry out the procedure as follows:-Ignition off.-Press in trip odometer reset button.-Switch on ignition.-Continue pressing in the reset button for 10 seconds.-Release reset button within 4 seconds. iggyz
It should be on the dash, below/near your odometer.

Guest Guest
I wish the internet did a better job of relaying sarcasm. Did not do it well enough?lol well i thought it was sarcasm wasnt sure....but i got another dilemna, coming home from soccer about an hour ago, i was doing some roll runs vs my friends civic just for fun on an open road, and suddenly my chekc engine started flashing and it stayed there, wtf....2morow imma brign it back to my mechanic, since he repaired it only 2 weeks ago
BtownVolvo
Last time my check engine light was flashing, i ended up with a cyl misfire. The coil pack was cracked so i replaced all of them since they were all original (running on 145,000 miles)
dmelviØØ7
A flashing CEL is BAD, no sarcasm there. A flasing CEL indicates a catalyst damaging misfire, not good.
