"00 V70 SE TURBO WAGON #2108 (Black) automatic, charcoal leather heated seats, sun roof, alloy wheels, STC traction control, Dual Airbags, side airbags, “wood grain” interior trim, CD and tape player radio, dual power seats, ABS brakes, cruise control, winter package, factory Info Display Computer, remote locking with alarm system, late style automatic transmission with five speeds for better performance and fuel economy, fully serviced including new timing belt, new brakes, has Michelin tires, 30 day 100% warranty and 6 month 6000 mile 50-50 power train warranty, one owner,

I now have a 95 855 (NA) 250k, the 00 V70 is being sold by my local indy shop I have been a customer for about 16 years the price seems a little high and the owner is firm on the price, I drove the car nice look and handles well, a few minor things.

What do you folks think?

A pre purchase inspection by another shop is in order, what should I look for?

This is a "light pressure" turbo what can I expect in terms of performance going from a NA to the world of Boost?

Also if the car sits there till Jan 07 how much should the price go down or should it, it's beem on the lot for about 2-3 months,

thats why I was surprised that he was firm on the price.

Thanks Chris28

[i am in the Washington D.C. suburbs and I have been looking at a few 2000 XC SE's for $6000 with 119K. One was in phenomenal condition with all the dealer records! I think the price is too high!

These cars are not particularly problematic, with the exception of the electronic throttle module (warranty to 200k, but still a problem if it fails in a bad place), and issues related to poor maintenance - including tranny issues from not flushing with correct new type fluid, depsite Volvo's saying no flush needed. They are not maintenance free, but do respond well to good regular and preventive maintenance. At 100k, I would want to see good records of prior work, as it is geting a little late to start preventive maintenance for the first time.

Price does seem high, but condition and maintenance make a real difference in what it is worth. I would not expect to go over $8k tops for a really nice 2000 in the current market, unless mileage was a good bit lower.
