gr8gatzby
I've just realized today that my drivers seat power button will not move the seat forward, although it will move it backwards(and all other directions as well). Additionally, the seat WILL move forward via the seat memory selector. 6 months ago the seat adjustment memory buttons would not work at all with the car outside of the PARK position, now they work at all times, while, simultaneously, being the only way I can move the seat forward. What's this funky mojo?

mbsl98
Actually, sounds just like corrosion either on the switch internal contacts, or on the connector plug where the switch plugs into the seat wiring. I would start by unplugging the switch (connector is under the seat, and you can reach it with a little effort when the seat is pushed back and raised). I think it is agreen plug, with prongs to release it. Pull it out of connector and spray contact cleaner on both plug and connector contacts, reconnect and try the switch. That fixed a very similar problem I had, where I thought ineeded to replace teh switch. Second attack it the switch itself. I'm not sure how wel you can access the contacts inside teh switch, but it is easy enough to get the switch out and check. Unlikely to be anything else that I can think of. jsindorf
My 99 v70 R AWD has this same problem. It is something in the connection... I think. With mine, if I put my hand under the part that has the controls and gently lift up, the control will work. I just have not had the energy to dig in there and figure out how to fix it.
