Yep, an SC-900 ;) ...It's the same thing as the SC-901, so TECHNICALLY another exists but if you don't like the SC-901, you won't like the 900 either. If you don't like the 3-CD in dash, you could always use the 901 (which has considerably better sound and a defeatable pre-amp adjustment) with a trunk mounted 6 CD changer for some better sound and not have to fool with the in-dash 3 CD.

oem volvo's radios suck

period

You think the SC-901 w/400W amp (ProLogic) and the Dynaudio package on first generation C70's sucks? Maybe if you like music where all you hear is "BOOM BOOM CLICK CLICK BOOM BOOM BOOM", then I could see otherwise. However, for some pretty stinkin' good audio, the C70 SC-901 w/Dynaudio and 400W ProLogic setup is awfully nice in my opinion, and I've heard a loooot of stereos :)

it's better than most volvo stereo's, but I wouldn't consider it good.

I would... being that I have it in my car and all ;)

Most definitely. Would someone mind to explain to me where it's lacking? Even more intriguing, what are people considering to be on the level of "good" if the SC-901/Dynaudio option is NOT on that plateau?

I have the 901 with the dolby and it sounds pretty good. It gives out a good overall sound with some respectable bass. its not going to bump as hard as some aftermarket systems but you will probably get a more clear sound. Only problem i have is that my 3cd changer stopped working so im going to see if i can get a cd changer installed that will work with the FM radio so i can still use all my speakers.

Good would be on the lines of the setup I have now. While I concur the SC-901 was one of the best factory sound systems, hence 'factory'. My complaints with the 901 too much distortion at above normal levels, while it has average mid-range it has weak artificial bass, when pushed sounds very hollow. The equilizer adjustments are sub-par for the dynaudio speakers and the 400W amp is way overrated.
