well.. i purchased an exact volvo remote on ebay for my car because i took my orig. remote to the dealer and he said it was shot. I tried the 5 key on off thing and still nothing. i used a voltmeter and checked my reciever behind the glove box and its getting juice like it should per the repair manual. Im planning on taking my newer remote to the dealer and having it checked also, but the guy on ebay said it was working fine. i put a new battery in it.

can someone plz help me with this..id love to have my keyless entry working.. thanks anyone.

Its Hit or miss with those things. I had a set for the wifes 94 and out of 6 fobs, ONly could get 3 to work the car even though

The dealership said all 6 were transmitting...It must be the Frequency Range on some fobs will only work certain ones I guess.

UPDATE...

i finally got it working... heres how i did it.

got in car ( DO NOT LOCK DOORS )

key on and off 5 times pos. II on ign. switch./ dont start car ofcourse just to pos. II

on 5th turn leave it in pos. II

hit unlock on key fob.

turn key off, get out, shut doors, and try it and it should work.

finally after months of messing with this ... :monkey:

The reason you could only get 3 to work is because that is the max you can use on one car.

Once there is three programmed to the car, is there a way to "clear out" the previously programmed remotes in case you have to replace a lost or broken remote?

I know the newer cars use vida to remove previously programmed remotes, didn't know 850's had a limit on the reomtes programmed.

Don't know if this is true but I heard the car programs itself to the remote so just get in whatever car you want the remote to work on and reprogram it to that car. This is just what I heard, so if it don't work, I am sorry.

that's kinda what I though about the 850....I don't think there is a limit to the number of remotes programmed to the car.

I also heard that three is the total limit you can program. I think there was a post on "SWEDESPEED" where I got that info.
