ifbiker
Now that the weather has turned a bit colder here in the upper midwest, I've noticed that I'm only getting warm air out of the side vents, none out of the middle. I read the Volvo manual, which instructed me to close the air mix to obtain the quickest warm up. However, no combination of air mix and vent opening settings result in warm air in the center vents. I do also notice a very faint smell of coolant during hard accellerations, but nothing when just driving around, no fog on the windshield either. A search in the volvospeed archives show that the heater cores are prone to leaking. So, it seams as though there is an issue w/ the heater core, but why would I get warm air on the side vents, but none out of the center vent? Could this be related to a temperature sensor issue?
