laird
So what kind of (total) temperature drop were you seeing? Is 250 degree F Turbo outlet temp. typical?

Che'_Moderator
The power and idle runs were done with an ECU starting in closed loop after the ECT had warmed to 80 degrees Centigrade. Was there a reason you did not use open loop for testing? That would basically remove the ECU variable.

It would seem to me a more efficient intercooler is in order regardless of the intercooler plumbing you use, since most of us have ECU upgrades. 854TGA+
Its not about temp its about routing. I am not sure the new routing keeps air any warmer and I highly doubt it does. What it does do is make it harder for water to reach the TBMy volvo does not cruise at 30,000 ft or have high enough intake velocities to claim phase cooling.I may be wrong but the 850 recall reguarding this replaced the throttle body not piping. I know of dealerships with piles of these RIP kits in late '95 early '96.
bigmay850
Wow what a great thread!! this really didnt have to go on this long, though it was entertaining! did we forget about chem 101, where hot less dense air rises and cooler more dense air falls, which in this case is a good thing b/c as we all know cooler more dense air is better for combustion.
