Slater
Maybe its cuz im only running 13 psi, but my car holds perfect boost with no creep to redline, and shows no fade anywhere between shifts or anything. 16T (striaght outlet I think was what the 98's had, right?)Yeah, if you are just running stock levels (or 13psi in your case) I could see that. It's when you start upping the boost when you start seeing really bad fade (depending on the turbo). Do you have an MBC or EBC?You mean creep or spikes? These turbos don't really have creep problems, but most spike between shifts at least with ATs.

On my 740 sometimes when flooring it, the boost would hit like 14 psi, then it would creep up to like 15.5 or 16 psi before the shift. basically, the MBC wasn't holding the boost contant. And well then looks like I'll have to hurry up and chip my car, then see how it works out. :)
EricF
Which 16T? Angled or straight? Because the wg on my straight flange 16T was identical to the one on the 15G (wg specs are stamped on the bottom). I wonder if the improvement you saw was just the tired 10 year old 15G actuator being replaced with a new(er) one. Can't recall the number off the top of my head.. But certainly different than the one on the 15G and the spring pressure by pulling on the actuator rod was noticeably stronger as well.218/60, is that the 15G? Could only find one actuator in my garage... Been a very long time since I have messed with these silly things. Also been a long time since I could find anything in my garage Oh well. Slater
19psi till redline ftwI should be too with the new turbo, downpipe/exhaust, and EBC.
EricF
No, it's lower than that. I want to say 150/something (like 150/40)?That's what I thought... I wonder, the conical 15G may have had a lighter spring than the straight? But then you would have had a conical outlet in your car anyway. It would seem then that it's somewhat random on 15G turbos? Because that actuator I have I'm 99% sure it came from a 16T. It would either be a 16T or 15G, and don't think I've had any 15G actuators as clean as it is.Cool topic, always fun to pick apart the actual parts Volvo put on these things from the factory :)
