New Turbo Being Fitted

That's a great price. I was quoted $375 from Cherry Turbos. BTW, what ECU tuning did you use for the super 60 upgrade?

John Ross at Central Research said he can do a conservative map for just about anything and can fine tune it after the dyno and afr's are done ;)

Ebay score $250, I just sent my dyno sheets to John Ross for a Retune, but I sent them to the wrong address, DOH! Anyway my AFR's were super lean with this turbo on my RICA 16t tune, Green injectors so on. 16t @ 19psi 239whp 275tq 12.5-13 AFR's, 16g @ 17psi 266whp 283tq 14.1 and up AFR's. WIth some more fuel I can turn the boost up and get about 300whp.

Decent numbers, can't wait to see when you get the ECU back B)

Hello and Great board!

Evo III 16g Is an MHI turbo, not similar to the early 90s mix n match designed Hahn. That one isn't an MHI turbo, so don't confuse them if possible. Better yet don't confuse any MHI turbo, with any Hahn super XX turbo. As compared to the Super 16g above it is tighter to the manifold and much less bulky. They simply are not the same at all except the compressor wheel. Even the Compressor housing is different.

Also the Hahn has the t3 flanged 10cm2 housing (very bad news for performance even if you you are factory t3 flanged)... That thing just kills the turbo response. You don't need a 10cm housing to eliminate boost creep if you have a decently sized wastegate opening to begin with.

Small 16g flow = 34 lbs/min

Big 16g flow = 36 lbs/min

EVO III 16 flow = 42 lbs/min

Once again great board, doing research now to learn more about a `96 850R T5r Wagon my brother is looking at over in Mississippi.

I fully expect to be beaten anyway... he always has the faster/newer car.

And yes its a BMW... e34 525iT. Much more practical than my old 97 TSi AWD, especially now that i have a 3 year old and 2 month old son to carry around and a stroller.

Time to slow down a little, and the BMW forces that quite effectively... :) 0-60 in what feels like 2 lifetimes! It cruises all day at 85-90 down the freeway, quietly and smoothly though, which is what i needed for now. And to me it's dead nuts sexy in black paint and lowered over 18" AC Schnitzers.

Pic for those who are remotely interested in non Volvo wagons. I won't profane the board with non volvo pictures displaying for wandering eyes

Until such time as I swap to a 5 speed, there is really no point in thinking about turbo'ing it.
