Speakers

Recommended Posts

OK so I have a 95' 850 Turbo Wagon and I hate how the stereo sounds. I think it is very quiet and I have absolutly zero bass. I don't want my car to rattle or to get a sub-woofer but I woul dlike to feel some bass and hear some good music. I would like to replace the front door, front dash, and rear door's speakers with the smallest amount of trouble possible. I am also keeping the stock headunit but may eventually put in an amp to run the speakers if needed or desired. I believe that the front doors are a 5 1/4" speaker and there is also a 2" speaker in the dash. Should I replace both or just replace the door speaker. What about a componant system. What are my options for a limited budget. I would also like to replace the rear doors and I believe they are also listed as 5 1/4" but I measured and believe I meased a 6" speaker. Which is right and I also saw information about I cannot put any speaker in the rear door because it must be a 8 ohm speaker or is that wrong. If this is true, what can I buy or how can I change this so that it works ok or should I just change the front doors and dash speakers and not worry about the rear door speakers.

I was just wondering about my options when I change my speakers soon. Thanks for all of your help.

Your right front doors are 5 1/4", but the dash speakers should be 3", mine were.

If I where you I would look into a decent set of component speakers. Like Boston Acoustic for nice clean sound, or more bass maybe go with a JL Audio setup. Both speakers are very good in quality and sound. I myself have Boston's all the way around.

With the components, you could put the tweeters that come with them in the dash instead of 3" speaker, and they will sound much better.

What about my rear doors? Anything important to look for when purchasing?
