First Time With A G-tech

13.9 secs. trap speed 109.

but i didnt have enuff time to work out how to launch best. :(

i think i could make at least another 0.5 secs on starting and shifting, less camber and more even road and another bound/rebound set up.

i only had 20mins, when i borrowed the g tech from some guy i didnt know. so i did four attempts. one couldnt be finished. the other two where over 14.

it was hot and humid outside, at least for germany.

so is that good? it is in one line with my claimed 11 secs from 0 to 100 mph...

sounds pretty accurate...I've seen your vids and specs and I think your car can do better than 13.9 with a good launch, but if you're trying on a normal road vs a drag strip you can already lose something like a few tenths I think.

109 mph is a nice trap speed! But definately within the boundaries of realism with your very light 850.

The 109 mph with a Gtech is your speed at the actual end of the 1/4 mile. At a track, they get the MPH by averaging your MPH over the last 60'. When I had my gtech, when I was trapping around 97 mph at the track it used to tell me I was trapping 100-101 mph. Take off 4 - 5 mph from that 109 and you should be pretty close.

i think i lose a lot of off-the-line-traction, because if my maxed out negative camber. with my ~2.25" lowering over stock 850 the camber becomes an issue, i think.

u can even see on the pic belo. and thats taken from the side.....

Exactly. I'd say 13.9 @ 103 sounds reasonable.

I say that's right on the dot, and that also pretty close to what I predicted a while back. :)

Keep in mind this is on a regular street where traction isnt optimal, and he only did a few runs. its impossible to get the best out of it.

Im mostly looking at his trap speeds, cause we are after all only concerned with highway domination here on VS.

Better traction lowers traps ;)

Wow how on earth did you drop 600 lbs?

Check all his posts for some pictures of his car's interior, if you could even call it that anymore...

Precisely. Even with us counting for the inherent lack of traction (which usually a boosts the trap speed a bit) on these cars...the trap speeds are still nothing to go home and tell Mom about. :)

Well when my volvo goes into freeway mode, the laws of physics break faster than a 500 lb persons ankles.

At about 65mph, the GPS light flashes on my dash and im am OUT!

To put it mildly, those single turbo supras are beginning for mercy..............and traction.

The reason why we trap so low is because volvo designs their windshields to magnify everything by 10x, so whenever us volvo guys go to the track, we are flying down the strip and it looks like we are gunna hit the barrier wall at the end, so we slam on the brakes to avoid hitting it, when in reality, we havent passed the traps yet. This explains are very low trap speeds, considering with aftermarket windshields we are trapping upwards of 140.

There is speculation that volvo implemented the 10x magnifying windscreens due to the enormous demand on the part of old ladies, soccermoms, and asians not being able to see kids running into the street. Volvo will not release any further information at this time, other than that this is a safety precaution and has saved many a retarded boys life.
