Mr Yuck Posted December 14, 2006 Report Share Posted December 14, 2006 Finally got the time to put in my new JVC Head Unit (KD-G720)I took the Sony HU out (CDX-C610) and looked at the wiring harness connector, and it looked EXACTLY the same as the one that came with my JVC, and just for kicks, I plugged the JVC wiring harness into the sony HU and it fit.I've never installed a car stereo, and I'm thinking this business of cutting out the sony harness and replacing it with the JVC harness is ridiculous, unless they are built differently.Simple way to find out would be to plug the sony harness into the JVC, and if it works, hooray, and if not, oh well I have all day.BUT, if they arent the same, is something going to get damaged if I try?EDIT: Dang, everything on the harnesses are the same exept the left and right speaker wires are reversed. PyROZen Posted December 15, 2006 Report Share Posted December 15, 2006 IIRC, one of the pairs of speaker wires are opposite from the other plug (i think the rears are swapped left/right). psy Posted December 15, 2006 Report Share Posted December 15, 2006 well if your like me then you'll just remeber that you'll have to go the oppisite way if you want to adjust that control but it should work flawlesly just keep the other connector around always handy.
