So I have those 18" pegs on my car with the stock Pirelli tires and I am worried that I am gonna get torched driving up the mountain to whistler tomorrow. You guys think they will be able to handle any amount of snow? There is a set of studless blizzak snow tires on steelies for $100 a few blocks from my house, should I grab them or am I going to be fine?

Yah, it really depends on the road conditions, if there is any snow or ice. There has been times when I drove up in the winter and the hwy is absolutely clean till you get to the village almost. Anyway you can check the conditions cuz I know after this trip, you're not going to need them, not in Seattle.

Check out the highway cam... it looked a lot better this afternoon, with clear driving "channels" through the snow, and this cam is just south of the village, but I still worry. They plow that shit all day and sand it though...

better get the blizzaks for peace of mind huh?

those will bolt up but i'm not sure if they'll clear your rotors...some s70's have larger rotors than 850's. ....just bolt one up and see how it goes...

I think that might be only on 99-2000 70's. Since his is a 98 (providing he doesn't have a modified brake kit) he SHOULD be OK with the 280mm rotors (same as 850 they were on)...
