Noahkk19
I get my low oil pressure light flickering when my car is idling and comming to a stop off and on. (The light never stays fully illuminated) It happens most common when the car has been on the road for a decent amount of time. I notice on start up, the split second before the car cranks up the light stays on a split second after all the others on start up and you can hear a vibration but that is also an off and on thing. I have worn motor mounts and I'm taking a guess that the vibrations from the engine moving are rattling around this oil pressure sensor as well??? My car blows no smoke, runs flawlessly and recently had a valve job done because I lost compression in my 3rd cylinder. This damn oil light is no fun watching flicker in traffic. 95 850 T-5R
mbsl98
It could be as simple as a failing pressure sender. However, with your internal engine work, it may be more. What weight oil are you running? If it is very light, it will be lower pressure at idle - could try putting in a little heavier weight and see how it changes. also added internal wear may be partly ofset with heavier oil. Then, your pan should be OK, I would assume.Change your sending unit, if you're still getting that flicker, your oil pump could be going out (assuming that you still have good compression)
