MeanGreenSwedeMachine
It actually doesn't look too bad with the paint. You can barely see the welds. Also, what difference can there possibly be between this and any other 3" system as long as it doesn't leak? The only variable is the muffler, which is straight through, so the performance difference will be minimal. Heck, for the money he spent, I'd take it no matter how bad it looked. Zulu
Dude, as long as it works it's straight. No doubt it's just as good as any other and you paid beyond a fraction of what most do. Props..
turbor850
looks effen good, makes me want to get a 3'' cat back and ditch the 2.5''
blown_volvo850r
Yeah, $54.50 is pretty good for a full 3" from the turbo. Mine's gonna end up running me around $600 after it's done, and that doesn't include the downpipe. I love the black paint, nothing looks better than black, that's why I bought a black muffler. As far as leaking, it won't hurt performance really, just make extra noise, and being that u can weld, easy fix if u missed a spot or two.My T5 Sounded like a V8 w/ dropped headers with just the single Borla muffler. Mine had a Borla when I got it, plus a race cat, and u couldn't even tell it was running at an idle. Even at redline it barely made any noise whatsoever. The muffler was a straight thru w/ a ringed core, I dunno how it quieted it the exhaust down like it did. W/ the way it's run now (straight w/ a 12" resonated test pipe), I've heard everything from cammed to diesel to V8 from various people. I'm really wondering how the full 3" w/ single Apex'i muffler is gonna sound.

JCviggen
Mine is so quiet (at idle/cruising) with the single Supersprint muffler... I like it, but I would also love a 3" straight pipe all the way to the rear bumper for I crapped my pants and I love how it feels and giggles Fireballs anyone?Fireballs? Same supersprint, catless DP....you do need to get it hot and then let off at 130 mph the blow off valve may help

Mesoam
nice man! thats going to be loud but the straight pipe leaves plenty of room for an extra muffler if you want it...or if 5.0 bothers you
gdizzle
Mine is so quiet (at idle/cruising) with the single Supersprint muffler... I like it, but I would also love a 3" straight pipe all the way to the rear bumper for shits and giggles Fireballs anyone? There is a huge difference in flow between a Borla XR-1 racing muffler and a supersprint.....................I've got two Borla mufflers and no cat, fireballs are a frequent occurance.

Hilton
Fireballs would ROCK! What kind of odds do you give me of actually having them?At any rate, a little more work on the Volvo today.Start of the dayEnd of the dayThe upper portion of the head is installed. (14ft lbs per bolt) The cams are in and adjusted. The timing belt is on and the tensioner is back on. I'm going to gap the plugs tonight. (.025) Tomorrow we're putting the intake manifold back. USMC850T
I've got just about everything I need to run 3" from turbine to rear axle right now. What did you do to get the turbine flange? Chop it from the old DP?
