irf
hey guys, been browsing for about 3 months now from when i bought the car, thought it was about time i joined up.came from owning a nissan 200sx or silvia S14 as you may know it that was pushing around 320 dd bhp, but had to get a family car so went with the T5.driving a T5 for the first time was not good!!!!slow, big time roll and so much dive under braking that i thought something was wrong!!! done a few mods and slowly but surely have been coming round to it.heres the car when i first bought itas you can see, sitting way too high and although it looks clean was in real need of a good polishing. so after some claying, paint cleanser, polish and wax she cam out like thisso thats the cleaning out of the way.smoke was coming out of the dipstick so i changed the pcv system after searching here through many posts.mods so far are mbc set too 14psi, autometer boost guage, pipercross panel filter with a drilled airbox and FK front struts with sachs rear shocks with 60/40mm springs. this is where my problems start!!! front sits ok but the back is pretty much standard height wise. been doing some searches and will probably cut half a coil or a full one, what do you guys think?here's the cars as its sitting nowas for future mods, i dont think i'll go as far as i did with my silvia, but am aiming for a decent fast road spec.i have a greddy profec on its way to me already, i think the next things will be strut brace, upper bush and then get some 17s, which is when i can then get some 302mm brakes. just have to hide everything from the other half lol!!! Jaxx
Nice car. - I love the color.I wouldn't take more than a coil or 2 off the spring, you're gonna messup your spring rate, and use a cutter, not a torch.

irf
damn guys, thanks for the welcome i dont know the colour code of the car sorry, but i do know that even when i had my silvia, i saw an 850r in this colour with the thors and thought to myself "hmm looks mencing".gonna cut either half a coil or a full one, definetly no more then that though.not too worried about the spring rate though.i'm sure i've read it on here that the spring rate would go harder, which if i'm correct would make the car less prone to understeer.someone correct me if i'm wrong though lol

ViperVette
... way to read. He already said the Profec then the 17s then 302s...Nice car man.Frank at EuroSport Tuning has the same exact car. He loves the thing(as do I, haha). Colour is amazing. Good progress on it for only three months, and might I add, great job on actually searching... too many people just start a new thread. to you sir! As per the FK kit, Pras had the same exact problem... they screwed up the rear springs something fierce. You def. should chop a half coil. I would almost go with a full one though because it is soooo high back there. I am sure you want to actually have the lowered look all around. irf
i read about pras and his problems otherwise i would hve been waiting for months for the suspension to settle, cept it wouldn't have!!!immediate plans for the car are1. tomorrow cut the rear coils(just one)2. got a greddy profec a on its way to me, so maybe over the new year fit that, along with some hoses that didn't get changed when i done the pcv3. paint the grill black.once thats all done i need to get a strut brace and then find some 17s and then start on the brakes, r bumper, tint the windows etc etc etc
