Guest Alan Levy
So as I have given up wiring to the front lighter due to what appears a difficult uninstallation. What about running a wire to the rear lighter? How would I go about doing that? It looks like the back seat must come out -- then it's just a few screws. Any help there? How does the rear seat unscrew? Thanks!
BeachRat
Not knowing what kind of car you're talking about... I would say try removing the center console to get handy access to all that nice, juicy wiring.Or you could just go seal clubbing <-- that's about as irrelevant as the information we have to work with so far. Guest sorry...
It's a 2000 C70 convertible.
coluccim
It's a 2000 C70 convertible. You should be able to grab the rear lighter wires by sliding the panel under the e-brake (what the e-brake boot is attached to) to the left.If not, removing the center console in a C is not hard but it is tedious:(This is for a manual tranny, autos might be a little different)1)remove ashtray assembly, remove 2 torx screws2)remove e-brake panel (slides left)3)lift up rear seat and remove 2 torx screws from back off console4)remove small panel cover inside armrest, remove 2 screws5)pull bottom of console straight out (horizontal) on each side to release clips. Greenchunks
I'm not sure why you are trying to tap the power for your blitzsafe into the aig lighter in the first place. Mine is tapped directly into the power of the factory deck. What are you doing with the cig lighters and the power lines? My blitzsafe was pretty easy and straightforward to install. Hook up one end to cd changer input on deck, run cable to ipod, tap power into deck. Done.

What did you connect that yellow wire too? Did you splice it? I'm a little embarassed having already hooked one up to our Mercedes E Class in fifteen minutes. I don't know why I'm having trouble figuring this out. And I do appreciate all your help. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!In the mess of wires for the wiring harness for the factory deck, I forgot which wire it was, but the one that supplied the power to the deck witin the harness, someone can chime in or you can find it on these boards, hell I think for the S70 I said in my writeup which one it was, dunno if that writeup cna still be found since it was before thngs were redone here. I just used a t-tap and ran the power from the deck with it straight from the wire in the harness.
