Another Exhaust Question

i wanna get a better sound out of my 850. i was wondering if any of you have removed the OEM muffler, ran a pipe in its place, and went with a round or square chrome style muffler at the rear of the car? if so, what size and brand did you use ? thanks for some info

I doubt anyone has done this. You might as well just go cat back and get some flow improvement as well.

yeah i was thinking about that..ive read going to a 3" cat back really doesnt help any ? it looks like theres enough room at the rear to put a small square or round chrome muffler.

2.5" is fine, and easier to install. Muffler in the rear is not a problem. I have one back there right now, plus a resonator where the stock muffler used to be.

Well, I am running a full 3" turbo back with a Magnaflow race muffler. Yes, I need the resonator! It is loud enough as it is. When it was first installed, I was just running 2 resonators and no mufflers at all. It sounds great at WOT, but can be annoying for the neighbors in the middle of the night.
