Denovae
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/2006/12/saddam-...-execution.htmlUnreal..this isnt going to solve the problemJust make Bush 1 and 2 cream their shorts..i think you forget it was the iraqis who tried him, found him guilty, sentenced him to death, and completed the execution. What exactly is the problem in iraq in your eyes?I see it as the iraqis not stepping up their side of the situation, taking over for US troops, and defending the birth of their nation.solving the problem? there is no ONE step (as many idiots in the US wish there would be) to solving the problem but this step with the iraqi control of the trial/execution of their former dictator is a MAJOR showcase to the rest of the world saying they are willing to step up and start working on their future.Do you oppose the freedom of choice? Do you oppose someone else's idea of justice? The iraqi's had the freedom of choice in both to put him on trial, to find him guilty, and also to execute him. This is their idea of justice, the president doesn't have the authority to have someone executed, it's against the law, trial by peers.

Its a waste of our time to be there, we have gained nothing and its not going to get fixed in our life time...I think personally, he should have been gassed like the thousands he murdered in the 80's..I guess that the rest of the world could take warning from this..but its doubtful

USSEnterprise
A dick-tater.Should have been imprisoned for life. Death is quick. Too quick, even by hanging. Having him rot in a out of country prison would (1) Be a long, drawn out, grueling punishment, and (2)make him less of a martyr. Killing him just made him into a martyr, dying for what he believed was right.

Having him rot in a out of country prison would (1) Be a long, drawn out, grueling punishment, and (2)make him less of a martyr. Killing him just made him into a martyr, dying for what he believed was right.but if you keep him alive you run the risk of insurgents gaining moment in an attempt to rescue/free him.once we captured him it was a done deal, there would be an insurgent attack surge either due to his execution or due to his being imprisoned for life. they chose execution, this is their right as the iraqi people, personally i would've voted for not telling anyone and just slipping poison to him over a long period in his food so he quickly dies over a month or two and you can claim natural causes. Or... make him live in paris... he'd commit suicide in days... i know i would.
