This is a feeler only!

As some of you know a few months ago I purchased a 1983 240 UK spec. I am debating if I want to sell it or not, and I just want to gauge the amount of interest in the car. I will give you a little background info on the car.

The car was owned by the USSR in London, England. The USSR used the car as a transport vehicle for ambassadors, to and fro meetings, and the airport. I do not have all the documents in front of me at the moment, but the car was then purcahsed by a Romanian art dealer. He then imported the car under a one year agreement with the United Sates. He lived in Chicago, and then sold it to Lee Fox, a British car collector in St. Louis. Lee had owned the car up until a few months ago, when his wife made him filter out his collection. Being the MG lover that he is, the Volvo was the first to go. My dad and Lee are good friends, and Lee knew I would be able to take care of it. We drove picked up the 240 and drove it back to kansas city with little to no problems. Now that I am preparing for college, I have been debating if I should sell the car.

Since it is a UK spec it has a B21A zenith carburetor, lined up with a M44 4-speed manual tranny. The car has a couple of minor rust spots, but nothing non-repairable. The power steering pump needs a little work, and at the moment it does not have power steering. I installed a new IPD exhaust on the car, and changed out the rear diff fluid. The car has somewhere around 104k miles.

The car still needs a little bit more work on it, and it takes time that I do not have.

The only issue you may have with registering the vehichle is if you have to talk to the government about an import tax. Emmisions may also be a problem, because the car does not have a cat, i did put a straight pipe in from the header to the first muffler, so installing a cat would not be very difficult.
