JHEIII874T5M
that's hardcore desperation bro, i'd just mount the obd ii under the radio, you're taking it a few steps too far wihtthat weight reduction man
Entuscan
Get one custom made from CF ... looks much better then just naked with some switchesMaybe the entire dash? Those sidepanels, bottompanels etc aren't exaclty light.Oh yeah mr die hard is that a radio in there?

(i thought you become a SAAB-traitor, aftre all...) just kidding.Sidepanels going to come in carbon. Friend of mine will make them.Radio, Amp, Speakers are already gone....who needs traffic news on the track. The carbon thing is a good idea in it self but a aluminum is much easier to drill, saw and bend. I think a readymade console would be $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$the dash board is a problem. im checking out with the TUV right now. Since the dashboard is crash relevant detail (knees, arms etc) it is not allowed in germany to simply remove it.I would have done:okokokok. im pushing it too far as someone said earlier. But still.........mmmmm...tempting..... B)
ontheheel
why not have fixed windows made from lexan or some kind of plastic? that way you don't need window switches. also, you could take out the door lock motors and just use your locks as manual locks while you are at it. you don't have seat heaters anymore, so you don't need those switches. as far as the obdII, i think your idea is good of either mounting it on a plate under the dash, or you could conceal it a bit by mounting it facing the floor under the dash.as far as weight reduction, why not get a new steering wheel? that stock one is pretty heavy. Mesoam
what about getting rid of those door pannels...and cut a CF sheet to match, i'm sure those things aren't exactally light...do you still use your climate controlls? If not why not just get rid of anything related to the climate system. Do you have a CF hood?
Sadude
yeah i think in that center console the only thing u really need are the window controls and obd connectorif u remove the radio and climate controls i think u have more than enough room to just put everything thereu keep amazing me at the lengths u go to cut the weight, but i guess u look at the volvo as a car with a lot of potential...i like thatbest of luck

I'd much rather see an engine swap or something else that'll go FASTER and keep all the niceties inside.

styx0r
weight reduction also dramatically improves handling←Good point! - And this car is driven primarily at the track, so handling is extremely important.
