'98 S70 Alarm Horn

As the title says, it's weak...my wife's '04 beats it hands down. In fact, I'm afraid anyone breaking into my car would just laugh at this pitiful alarm. Anyone put something else in instead of the OEM horn? I'm talking about the one that is cylindrical above the heat shield under the hood. I want something else but don't want to mod a bunch of stuff with extra relays, etc.

Try adjusting the nut in the center of the alarm horn. Mine didn't work at all until I found out that the nut in the center was loose. I tightened it up and woorks fine now.

wow im gonna try this, my alarm doesn't work at all either.

I remember when my battery went dead, because of alternator. Anyway when i opened the door to start it after i had it on a charger and it wouldn't start, but the blinker lights were going off. I was like WTF is going on and it had me and my friend stumped for about an hour. Then we both looked at eachother at the same time and were like OHHH, put the key in the door lock and unlock. It started right up. Come to find out the alarm was going off and wasn't making noise, but the lights were going off.

I tightened that nut...it did nothing on mine. I think the alarm horn is fubarred.

Japan we should both look into this and get together and install them. I been thinking about this for a little bit as well.

Hey, I agree...give me a call: Same area code as you + 696-4163 for my cell.

You may have to play with it, if it is too loose it won't work and just the opposite, if it is too tight it won't work.

Or you could put a digital voltmeter on it, hit panic and see if you're getting juice.

Mine was a loose nut deal, too. Sounded like it had asthma until I tightened it.

Of course, where I live, with a stock system and nothing valuable in the car,

it'll never go off anyway.

If you want something beefier, It should be a way easy swap.

You have grnd and 12+ right there at the horn.

Any old siren should work great.
