Just A Little Bit Of Help

Hey guys, as some of you know I bought new rims a month or two ago and they already had tires on them. The tires were 235/45-r17 BFGOODRICH Sport or all sport. From what i researched today most people have 215/45-r17 tires on their 850s. Now the tires that were on the rims when i got them were from a c 70 and they were meant to fit a c70. Well me being the airhead i am sometimes went to the tire store yesterday and had them put the same size tires on the car(235/45-r17). You know how these tires places are they just try to get you in and out as fast as they can, which they did with me.

Well all was fine until they took my car down and took it for a test drive to check the alignment etc. I was a little nervous about the guys going for a test drive in the car without me because 3-4 of the tire specialist were saying," dang your car looks nice, is it fast?" I didnt really say anything though. I watched my car being driven off by someone i didnt know and was scared he was going to go for a bit of a joy ride. 10-15 minutes later the guys pulls into the parking lot like a bat out of hell and slams into the incline going up to the driveway. When he pulls in i can hear the tires hitting the black plastic in where the tires are. The guy parks the car and i question him because their is plastic hanging from the side on the side of the tire he says"idk what your talking about," and runs off to find some more work. I didnt really worry about it to much because i was late to pick up my sister and my mom was already mad at me for that. So i left the Tires Plus and went to get my sister. The car drove fine until i pulled into my drive way and the tires are completely scared because of the damage done by the employee.

I showed my dad everything and he is going to switch cars with me tomorrow and take the car back. It sucks being young and everybody ignores without taking you serious. My question for you is do you think they are going to do anything for me? What i mean is do you think they will put 4 smaller tires on the car considering i have only driven 30 miles on them and will they fix the damage done by the employee for free?

The tires damage is only on one side of the car. The front left tire which was the the tire on the side with the plastic hanging done. the other side of the car is fine and looks brand new. 215/45-r17 is the way to go, right?

Thanks guys

either you get all your money back or all new tires , and yes that is correct tire size its the exact same size I had on my 850 for 4 years and I didnt have any problems except for the crappy ones I got from tirespluss

plain and simple they screwed them up so they pay for them , I also HATE TIRES IDIOTS those tire hacks are the biggest bunch of iditos in general and I hope you didnt buy them POS fusion tires if you did make sure you get different tires when you get new ones since those POS will just POP after about 1000 miles I had four of them go bad on me and bust a rim.

Tires Plus = azzholes

That's a long story you got there...

The only relevant thing is what the tire shop does for you, and only you can tell us how that all goes down.

Should they offer you replacement tires? IMO, No. You got what you asked for. Be better prepared next time.

Ya i kinda messed up.lol. But in my opinion the tire place should ahve said these rub really bad you might need to try a different pair. Instead they just tried to get me in and out. Hopefully my dad will get all things sorted out with him being the ruthless buisnessman he is.

they should at least replace the tire thats F-upd

and those tires and rims are fine with that car that is the exact same size I had on my 850

yes 215 would be better but 235 will fit

I would tell those tire jokers that if they don't swap tires for you, (after all they are the Professionals and should know what size would fit) that you will bill them for the damage on your car. Tell them that your Dad or Mom was waiting for you in their car and saw the bozo come flying in the driveway so if they want to dispute it tell them to bring it on. For sure tell the manager of the tire store what went down and get some justice. Don't give in and take a beating. They know better.

Seriously you done the right thing to get your dad involved. First thing they probably took advantage of you because of your age so most likely they would of pacified you and got you back on the road thinking everything was fine. Secondly research before you put 235's on your car .... lots of info about what sizes will work. Third.... tell your dad how wonderful he is and ask him if you could go with him back to the tire store. Fourth bring a baseball bat or some type of weapon in case they don't listen to your dad and not give you something that will work. Fifth .... have someone post back and let us know if you ended up in jail for knocking the living sh*t out of that greese monkey. Good luck

hey guys i'm off to bed i'll tell you guys what happened after school and work tomorrow.

Good luck getting everything sorted out. I catch shit all the time because I look younger than I am. Here's a quote from an exhaust guy, "Why do you want a 3" exhaust? It won't flow any better than the 2.25" you have now. And you're not even making 200hp so why bother?"

yeah, I'm not going back there

most tire places will put on a tire that meets or exceeds the load index if the customer goes on there stating the tire size he wants. if you walk in there saying 'I need tires" they would most likely look it up and see what your options are for an 850.

It sucks being young and everybody ignores without taking you serious.

Think that way and you are already at a diasadvantage. Thats their tactic to get you on their way.

even 215 45's rub on full lock...

i don't trust any place (isn't that sad) i allways just give the shop my wheels and tires for mount & ballance, they never lay a finger on my vehicle...

The small place i go to does a great job (and is surely represented in the cost) however even still, never a wrench...
