What Would You Do

If the car is in as much disrepair as you state, you are just chasing a money pit. Keep your motor and whatever else is good, part out the rest and buy a different car or wagon to put your stuff in.There have been more than a few nice cars here for sale cheap that are in fine shape but just need a motor. There was one black wagon that was here (can't remember who it was) but it looked sharp and for only $900.00, how could you go wrong? By the time you buy new suspension, brakes, wiring, ect., ect., not to mention time spent on labor, it would be a no brainer, dump the problem and start from new with a strong platform. JMO

If the car was cheap enough and in good enough condition i would. but like pras says its going to be 1500 for a shell thats decent.

do the maintenance.....you're going to spend $1500 on a shell, which lets face it, will be 10+ years old with similar problems.

spend that $2000 or whatever just to buy maintenance stuff, which I'm sure you can do within that budget.

1500-2k might fix my problems.
