ogsrotag2423
One of my rear deck speakers in my 1997 850 R blew out a few weeks ago and i am having a ton of trouble trying to get a replacement. None of the aftermarket speakers will fit into that spot without cutting into the car and i am not interested in doing that. Does anyone have some old stock speakers out of an 850 lying around that they might want to sell me?Thanks,B.J.I only need one but if you only want to sell them as a pair I will still buy them. I have a pair of pioneer speakers that I got at Best Buy for like $60 that I put it, I just took the old factory speakers (which were blown to stuff) out of the black plastic housing, and the dremeled away at the housing to get them to fit in there. I would take some pictures, but I'm leaving for vacation for 2 weeks in a mere 8 hours and its already 11:30 PM here.

TorqueSteer
I also put in pioneer speakers very easily, i just simply took the stock black speaker box, removed the top grill cover, and the pioneers had factory drilled holes that bolted right to the bottom of the volvo speaker box. I decided to keep the grilles off the top because they rattled too much with my subwoofers. No sun damage a year later!!
850 Stylzz
gonna f* yourself if you do that. Different ohm loads. Stock is 8, most aftermarkets are 4.
TorqueSteer
I dunno, theyve been flawless for over a year now of heavy listening.
PyROZen
as long as your headunit is okay with 2 ohm loads your good. 4ohm + 4ohm = about 2ohm when speakers are parallel. I have aftermarket speakers in my volvo and my alpine works great, no poblems at all.edit:the size of the rear deck is 6x8 or 5x7. you can find some decent speakers at crutchfield.com if you dont want factory replacements. V Tuning 850
Get a Boston Acoustics 5x7" speaker. You will have to drill some holes. But otherwise it fits nicely in there.Hardly any after markrt speakers I looked at would fit the actual size the speaker was.So I went with the BA's, and I love them.To bad I sold them and went with the BA component set they have. I would have sold you the speakers.
