Figawi
I have a 12" sub in a box in my trunk. i find it takes up too much room in the trunk. what are my other options besides having a box in the trunk? are there any speakers i can get for the cabin that will produce the same amount of bass and conserve space? i don't need ALOT of bass

Bing_0
well, if you can do some custom fabrication, then you can fit i think a s8l7 kicker in the spot behind the center console between the front and rear seats...b

potroast
some nice infinity's will do nicely←Infinities are notorious for HORRIBLE bass response...What does your box look like? I have a 12" with 1.3 cu.ft and it pounds pretty good. It also doesn't take up that much room:here's a similar design I did for a friend, although it is different: I believe his had 1.1 cu.ft. It sticks farther into the trunk, is slightly smaller, but it has a pretty large "hidden" compartment behind it.
850GLT333
Are infinitys that bad with bass response? b/c once i get the money im planning on getting Infinity front door and rear deck speakers...but if theyre that bad, i might have to consider another brand bc i value bass too much!! :D
Bing_0
well, personally i think one of infinities strong suits is their midbass, their line of spekaeres, all have over sized cones, relatively long xmax, and for some reason, a rahter low re. freq. which means that even their reference line coaxials get good low end response.a few reviews of infinity spekares int he past also echo my opinion...but different people have different tastes I guess.B
wattsat
This is what I have, and it is more than enough. The amp is under the front seat.http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=5510

If you look at the corners you'll see the nylon standoffs. There's about 2" of clearance between the sub and the lexan plate. It is there so that I can throw stuff in my trunk and nothing will puncture my sub!My friend's setup (he's the one with the Concept sub, above) had something slice his cone, and I want to prevent that with my setup. What better than bullet-proof-glass (lexan)

Works on the same principal that when you point the subs to the back of the trunk they are louder. :)

I really need to tune my mains amp. <_<
Veneficus
^thats the box that I have... (don't look at the sub, its just a temporary one)I got it off of ebay, so I don't really know how it was made. Its all fiberglass and ~1 cube in size... it doesn't really take up too much room because its in the odd spot in the trunk. I have my amp mounted spare tire well up against the side that faces the rear bumper and it keeps it cool enough. As far as sound projection, I had a box (regular square) and I moved it around a bit to find out where I liked it and it seemed that the back right corner worked the best for my setup so then I came across this box.well, if you can do some custom fabrication, then you can fit i think a s8l7 kicker in the spot behind the center console between the front and rear seats...←^Yeah, that would be a nice space saver idea too... a bit more intense than a simple box but very very nice. ---Brian
